To Stay Or To Move

I recently signed up for adsense, not being able to get a job at this time. All was going well until time to add ads to my blog. Then I found I couldn’t without paying 20 something dollars a month for custom css.

I looked and looked for another way, but alas, could not find one. I don’t wish to only be blogging for money, but I get 70+ views a day, I figured, why not? And yet, wordpress will not allow it.

I am expecting to only make 20 dollars or so a month and do not wish to throw it right back out to wordpress. I need money for food and typical things for living. Is it so much to want a little extra (well not even extra for me) cash?

So, what I am trying to decide now is whether or not to move my blog elsewhere. Either back to blogger *sigh* or to my website. This is all terribly infuriating, as I’ve put much time into this blog, but I feel as if I should move it.

A Night At The Museum

The week before Halloween, the Museum of Mobile held “A Night At The Museum”, a little takeoff on the movie. We decided to go and it turned out pretty awesome.

The sunset was lovely that evening. (Taken in the Popeyes Drive Thru)

The Belly Dancers. I didn’t manage to get a video.

Fort Gaines

Its been a long time! Back in September, my mom and I went to Fort Gaines. We haven’t been there in years! Here are some pictures <3

The entrance to the Fort and someone’s red truck haha

Our awesome guide/map!

And then, 2 photos into the Fort, I got all Artsy Fartsy and had to take a picture of the bricks the pathway was made of.

And then I was distracted by wildflowers. Very common wildflowers.

And I leave you with a picture of the horse the blacksmith made out of a horseshoe!

Fur Does Not Equal Glamour!

There have been a few secrets in the lolita secrets community about a girl who had a fur shawl on in, I assume, her daily_lolita post. Some scold her, rightly so, and most defend her!
I personally find it sickening that anyone would even classify fur as classy. Maybe 300+ years ago when maybe that was all you could make a coat out of to stay warm, but not now when there are much kinder fabrics that make an equally warm coat/wrap.
When I see someone wearing fur, my first thought is “do they have no heart?” Animals suffer deaths in the fur industry, that if done to a human, would be punishable by death with the law. I want to know why this is not the case with an animal! Are we so cruel that we can just skin animals alive to our hearts content without punishment?
How would you feel if you were caged with tons of other people in cages so full you could barely, if at all, move? Then taken by people larger, more powerful, than you and skinned alive so someone could make an ugly coat or scarf, or perhaps a pair of shoes or a handbag? You would want justice. You would want someone to do something!
Luckily, as I believe (you don’t have to agree), animals do have a second life, a perfect one, just like people do if they’re good. The bible says many times how God loves animals! So at least these poor creatures go somewhere happy after these horrors happen to them.
But why must they have to wait until death to end their suffering? We can end their suffering and they can have two perfect lives! Wouldn’t that be lovely?
“How can I help with this?” You may ask. Simply give up animal products! Don’t buy fur, go vegan(its not that hard!!),don’t buy products that test on animals, don’t visit the circus, etc and urge friends, family, and even complete strangers to do the same! Together, we can stop the cruelty happening to animals!

Rant: Prince Naveen Is Not African American! OMFG!

Alrighty, so the whole race issue everyone is bringing up in The Princess And The Frog is really starting to make me mad. It. Is. Just. A. Movie! A great one at that! Who cares if Tiana marries a white man or a black man or a little short mexican man? Not me!

After I read a review of the movie that did not even speak of the movie, but only of the fact that Naveen is not FULL African American. So what? Anyway, after hearing that a few more times, I decided to Google “What race is Prince Naveen?” I was directed to a ton of insane articles in blogs about “OMFG! PRINCE NAVEEN ISH NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN!! TIANA DOES NOT DESERVE THIS!! FUUUU!” I decided, this is rant worthy.

One of the blogs I read was just crazy. I quote from it:

Maybe you can figure it out, but I have a good idea that he’s just a Ken doll dipped in a vat of caramel-colored paint.

Okies, so here, I give you a picture of Tiana and Naveen

Maybe not the best picture, but it was what I could find on google images. I think Naveen looks great! What I’ve figured from the beginning he must be is like French and African American. I seriously don’t get the problem, he’s obviously half-something! And you know what I say to these people saying “oh noes!” You know what, your president is half black half white. What do you have to say about that? You realize by saying that Naveen should not be a Disney Prince and be marrying an African American woman, you are in a way, putting down President Obama for marrying a lovely African American woman and being President?

Another quote:

Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen…Naveen?? Sounds like a jar of black hair creme. Even ‘Tyrone’ would be ten times better.

Really? Really Lady?! I don’t know if I have a warped point of view, but I thought that Naveen was a pretty good name. Sounds very nice and prince-ly. It *does* have to at least sound like a prince’s name. Do you really want a “Prince Tyrone of Maldonia”? Now that doesn’t sound too right does it? Not very prince-ly.

I just find it so ridiculous that people cannot set aside race and enjoy a good movie! I for one, when I saw the movie, decided I’m going to be Tiana for Halloween next year. Why can’t the rest of you complaining just put down the race card and enjoy pure Disney awesomeness?

There will also be a new tag on my blog because of this rant: “Its just a movie!”

Christmas Decorations! Yay!

So, if you know me at all, you know that my grandfather is a Jehovah’s Witness and we have to celebrate Christmas in secret. Well, this year, we decided to get deer for the yard!!! Just a few pictures of our lovely deer that we got!

Lit up

And an extra! My cat, Pumpkin, really loved the deer. I think he and Shadow think they’re real!

Shadow ran off before I could get her picture! She’s a little camera shy!

Question of the day: How do you decorate your house for Christmas? Do you go for simple, like we did, or do you go all out and try to have the brightest house?

Thanksgiving Weekend

Happy late Thanksgiving to all! Hope you all had great fun! I got some pictures(mostly of Sunsets on Friday and Saturday, but heck, they’re pretty!) I didn’t get any of dinner on Thursday because my camera battery decided to die on me that morning.

Aunt Iris and Uncle Mike arrived Wednesday for my Grandmother’s birthday. We had cake and take out from Olive Garden! Yums!

Thanksgiving day was wonderful! Uncle Mike and my grandfather watched football most of the day. The table was so full of food, we could barely fit it all onto the table! Everything was delicious!

Friday, my mom and I went shopping. We ran by Bell Air Mall, which was very crowded
The Crowd At Bell Air Mall
You look closely, you can also see my purse in the window XD

Then it was onto the Eastern Shore Center, which was equally as crowded and had a lovely Christmas Tree up! It was so huge that I could not get the whole thing in one picture without getting hit by a car, so I got it in two pictures.

Then, a picture of me in front looking fat. (didn’t bother to edit cause I needed to post these soon…)
Me in front of Eastern Shore Center Tree
It was also very bright and my eyes were closed XD Such a fail picture, it just had to be posted here. But I do like my hair! The closest thing to a Mrs.Lovett do that I can manage with this hair cut.

Now, onto the lovely sunsets of Friday and Saturday evening! You’ll learn rather quickly that I love a beautiful sunset and will take millions of pictures of one! So, enjoy a spam of a beautiful Mobile sunset!

Random Shadow In Sunset
This was really weird and I tested out blurring some of the poles and it didn’t do this. The whole car thought it might be some paranormal activity. I think we’ve been watching too many ghost hunting shows! XD

And lastly, Stix had the BEST Christmas Tree ever! It was decorated with all these little Origami ornaments! It was so amazing!!

I stood there freaking out over it for about 10 minutes!

Then when we were going home, we saw that the RSA tower has their Christmas Color lighting on the building! I missed the photo op, but I will snap a picture when we go to the Nutcraker later in December. And then, as I call it, they have their baby muffin(dont ask, just something random I decided to call it) on the Riverview and it matches beautifully!

I haven’t had a chance to edit my pics from the Renaissance Faire. Been busy busy busy!! But I will be doing that in the next week and posting them here! Ta ta for now my loves!!
